Ireen Wüst
Ireen Wüst is a Dutch former speed skater who won six Olympic gold medals across five Winter Games, from 2006 to 2022.
2006 Winter Olympics: The Winter Olympics held in Turin, Italy, where Wüst won her first Olympic gold medal. At 19, she won the 3,000 metres and announced herself as a major international contender.
1,500 metres speed skating: A long-track speed-skating race covering three and three-quarter laps of a 400-metre oval. Wüst won Olympic gold at this distance in 2010, 2018, and 2022.
Sven Kramer: A Dutch long-track speed skater and four-time Olympic champion. Kramer and Wüst were leading figures in the same Dutch Olympic speed-skating generation.
