Isaac Casaubon

Isaac Casaubon (1559–1614) was a French classical scholar and philologist whose editions and commentaries shaped the study of Greek and Latin texts. His scholarship also challenged claims that early Christian writings were ancient.

Joseph Justus Scaliger: A French scholar of classical chronology and languages, widely regarded as one of the leading humanists of his age. Scaliger encouraged Casaubon’s scholarship and became his close intellectual ally.
