Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton was an English mathematician and physicist whose laws of motion and theory of universal gravitation helped establish classical mechanics.

Newtonian mechanics: The framework describing motion through Newton’s laws and forces, highly accurate at everyday speeds and scales. Newton’s laws made this framework a systematic account of motion.
Newton's laws of motion: Three principles relating an object's motion to inertia, applied force, and equal-and-opposite interactions. Newton stated these laws as the core rules governing mechanical motion.
