J. Robert Oppenheimer

J. Robert Oppenheimer was an American theoretical physicist who directed the Los Alamos Laboratory during the Manhattan Project and later lost his security clearance after a public hearing.

Leslie Groves: Leslie Groves was the U.S. Army general who oversaw the Manhattan Project. Groves selected Oppenheimer to direct Los Alamos despite doubts about his administrative experience.
Los Alamos Laboratory: Los Alamos Laboratory was the secret wartime research center that designed the first nuclear weapons. Oppenheimer organized and directed the laboratory from 1943 through the end of the war.
