Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah

Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was the 13th Emir of Kuwait, ruling from 1977 until his death in 2006. His reign included the Iraqi invasion and Kuwait’s liberation in 1991.

Iraqi invasion of Kuwait: Iraq’s 1990 occupation of Kuwait, which lasted until a US-led coalition expelled Iraqi forces in 1991. The invasion forced Jaber into exile and became the defining crisis of his reign.
Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah: Kuwait’s emir from 2006 to 2020, previously its foreign minister for four decades. Jaber’s half-brother succeeded him and had long served as a central statesman.

Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah: The tenth ruler of Kuwait, reigning from 1921 to 1950 and Jaber’s father. Jaber was born into the ruling family as Ahmad’s son.
