Jabir ibn Hayyan

Jabir ibn Hayyan is the traditional name of an Arabic alchemist and natural philosopher associated with a large corpus of writings, much of it probably composed by later authors.

Jabirian corpus: A large collection of Arabic alchemical and philosophical writings attributed to Jabir ibn Hayyan. These texts constitute the main evidence associated with Jabir, though their authorship is disputed.
Alchemy: A historical set of practices and theories concerned with transforming substances and understanding matter. Jabir is chiefly known through writings belonging to this tradition.
