Jackie Coogan

Jackie Coogan (1914–1984) was an American actor who became a child star in Charlie Chaplin’s The Kid and later played Uncle Fester on television’s The Addams Family.

The Kid: A 1921 silent comedy-drama film directed by and starring Charlie Chaplin, with Jackie Coogan as the child known as the Kid. Coogan’s performance opposite Chaplin made him an international child star.
Coogan Act: A 1939 California law requiring a portion of a child performer’s earnings to be preserved in a trust account. Coogan’s parents controlled much of his childhood fortune, helping prompt this protection.
