Jacobite rising of 1745

The Jacobite rising of 1745 was an unsuccessful campaign to restore the Stuart dynasty to the British throne, led by Charles Edward Stuart and ended by defeat at Culloden in 1746.

Glenfinnan: A village in the Scottish Highlands where Charles Edward Stuart raised the Jacobite standard in August 1745. The campaign began here with the public proclamation of Charles as prince regent.
Charles Edward Stuart: The Stuart claimant who led the Jacobite rising of 1745 and was known as Bonnie Prince Charlie. He landed in Scotland, raised the standard, and commanded the campaign.
