Jacques Maritain

Jacques Maritain (1882–1973) was a French Catholic philosopher who renewed Thomism for modern debates and influenced Christian democracy and human-rights thought.

Thomas Aquinas: A thirteenth-century Dominican theologian and philosopher whose synthesis of Christian theology and Aristotelian philosophy shaped Catholic thought. Maritain treated Aquinas’s philosophy as a living resource for modern problems, not merely a medieval system.
