Jayavarman VII

Jayavarman VII was a Khmer king who ruled from about 1181 to 1218, expanded the Khmer Empire, and sponsored Buddhist temples, roads, hospitals, and rest houses.

Khmer Empire: A Southeast Asian empire centered in Cambodia that flourished from the ninth to fifteenth centuries. Jayavarman VII ruled at its height and extended its power across mainland Southeast Asia.
