Jean

Jean is a sturdy cotton twill fabric traditionally woven with a colored warp and white weft. It is closely associated with denim clothing, though the two fabrics are not identical.

Twill: A weave pattern in which each weft yarn passes over and under multiple warp yarns, producing diagonal ribs. Jean’s diagonal surface comes from this weave structure.
Denim: A sturdy cotton twill fabric typically woven with colored warp yarns and lighter weft yarns. Denim is often used for the same garments, but its weave and yarn arrangement distinguish it from jean.
