Jean-Pierre Boyer

Jean-Pierre Boyer was a Haitian military officer and politician who governed Haiti from 1818 to 1843, unifying the country and extending its rule over eastern Hispaniola.

Haitian unification: The consolidation of Haiti’s northern and southern states under one government in 1820. Boyer completed unification after the death of northern ruler Henri Christophe.
