Jīvaka

Jīvaka was a physician celebrated in Buddhist tradition as the Buddha’s personal doctor and a benefactor of the monastic community.

Jīvaka Komārabhacca: The physician identified with Jīvaka in early Buddhist texts and later South Asian medical traditions. This name anchors the physician’s identity across Buddhist and medical sources.
