John Amos Comenius

John Amos Comenius (1592–1670) was a Czech educator, theologian, and philosopher whose writings advanced systematic, accessible teaching. His illustrated textbook Orbis Pictus helped establish the use of images in instruction.

Didactica Magna: A treatise by Comenius proposing a systematic method for teaching all people all subjects. It sets out the comprehensive teaching system behind his educational work.
