John Boorman

John Boorman is an English film director, screenwriter, and producer whose work includes Deliverance, Excalibur, and The Emerald Forest.

Deliverance: A 1972 thriller directed by John Boorman about four city men on a canoe trip in rural Georgia. Its wilderness ordeal became Boorman’s best-known film and earned him an Academy Award nomination.
