John Dalton

John Dalton (1766–1844) was an English chemist and physicist who developed modern atomic theory and studied gases, weather, and color blindness.

Atomic theory: The theory that matter consists of discrete atoms whose arrangements and interactions explain its properties. Dalton’s account made atoms central to explaining chemical reactions and compounds.
