John Flynn

John Flynn (1880–1951) was an Australian Presbyterian minister who founded the Aerial Medical Service, which became the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Australian Inland Mission: A Presbyterian Church of Australia mission founded in 1912 to serve people in remote inland communities. Flynn led this mission, whose scattered outposts exposed the need for remote medical care.
De Havilland DH.50: A British-designed biplane used for passenger transport and early medical flights in Australia. A DH.50 made the first scheduled flight of Flynn’s aerial medical service in 1928.
