John Smith

John Smith (c. 1580–1631) was an English soldier, explorer, and colonial leader who helped establish Jamestown and later promoted English settlement in North America.

Pocahontas: Pocahontas was a Powhatan woman who mediated between her people and English colonists at Jamestown. Smith later claimed she intervened to save his life, a story whose historical accuracy remains disputed.
