Jonathan Demme

Jonathan Demme (1944–2017) was an American film director, producer, and screenwriter whose work ranged from intimate dramas and documentaries to Hollywood thrillers.

The Silence of the Lambs: A 1991 psychological thriller directed by Jonathan Demme, starring Jodie Foster as FBI trainee Clarice Starling. Its critical and commercial success made it Demme’s best-known film.
