Jordan

Jordan is a country in the Levant bordered by Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the West Bank. Its capital is Amman.

Amman: Amman is Jordan’s capital and largest city, built across a landscape of hills. The capital concentrates Jordan’s government, population, and economic activity.
Transjordan: Transjordan was the territory east of the Jordan River that became a British mandate and later an independent kingdom. Its name and boundaries preceded the modern state of Jordan.
Hussein of Jordan: Hussein of Jordan was king from 1952 until his death in 1999. His long reign guided Jordan through regional wars and major political realignments.
Jordan–Israel peace treaty: The Jordan–Israel peace treaty is the 1994 agreement that formally ended the state of war between the two countries. It settled key border issues and established diplomatic relations with Jordan’s western neighbor.
