Joseph E. Murray

Joseph E. Murray (1919–2012) was an American surgeon who performed the first successful human kidney transplant between identical twins in 1954. He shared the 1990 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries concerning organ and cell transplantation in treating human disease.
