Joshua Lederberg

Joshua Lederberg (1925–2008) was an American geneticist who helped establish bacterial genetics through research on bacterial recombination and gene transfer. He shared the 1958 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Edward Tatum: An American geneticist who shared the 1958 Nobel Prize for discoveries concerning genetic recombination and the organization of genetic material in bacteria. Lederberg’s collaboration with Tatum produced the experiments demonstrating bacterial genetic recombination.
