Julius Wellhausen

Julius Wellhausen (1844–1918) was a German biblical scholar and historian whose analysis of the Pentateuch helped establish the documentary hypothesis of its composition.

Pentateuch: The first five books of the Hebrew Bible and Christian Old Testament. Wellhausen’s source analysis focused on the formation of these five books.
