June Almeida

June Almeida (1930–2007) was a Scottish virologist who developed influential methods for imaging viruses with electron microscopy and helped identify the first human coronavirus.

Anthony Waterson: A British pathologist and virologist who directed the Virus Reference Laboratory in London. Waterson recruited Almeida to the laboratory where her electron-microscopy work developed.
