Jupiter Trojan

A Jupiter Trojan is an asteroid that shares Jupiter’s orbit and librates around the stable L4 or L5 region, roughly 60 degrees ahead of or behind the planet.

Lagrange point: A location in a rotating two-body system where gravitational and centrifugal effects allow an object to remain in a fixed position. Jupiter Trojans cluster around the system’s L4 and L5 Lagrange points.
Nice model: A model of Solar System evolution in which the giant planets migrated and later rearranged their orbits. In this model, planetary migration captured and redistributed many Jupiter Trojans.
