Kalidasa

Kalidasa was a classical Sanskrit poet and dramatist traditionally associated with the Gupta age. His surviving works include lyrical poetry, epic poems, and plays.

Sanskrit: An ancient Indo-Aryan language that remains a major language of Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain literature. Kalidasa composed in the literary language that gives his works their distinctive poetic texture.
Abhijnanashakuntalam: A Sanskrit play by Kalidasa in which King Dushyanta and Shakuntala are separated by a curse and reunited. It is his best-known drama and a major work of Sanskrit theater.
