Kamehameha IV

Kamehameha IV, born Alexander Liholiho, was the fourth monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaii, reigning from 1855 to 1863. He promoted education and public health while navigating growing foreign influence.

Queen's Hospital: A Honolulu hospital founded in 1859 to provide medical care to Hawaiians and other residents. Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma established it to address the devastating decline in Native Hawaiian population.
