Kangaroo

A kangaroo is a large Australian marsupial that moves mainly by powerful hind-leg jumps and carries its young in a pouch.

Saltatory locomotion: Movement by a series of jumps or hops, with the body repeatedly leaving the ground. Kangaroos are among the largest animals whose main form of travel is hopping.
Macropodidae: The marsupial family containing kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, and several related groups. Kangaroos belong to this family of mostly hopping Australian marsupials.
