Kannada language

Kannada is a Dravidian language spoken chiefly in Karnataka, India. It has a literary history spanning more than a millennium and is written in the Kannada script.

Kannada script: The alphasyllabary used to write Kannada and several neighboring languages. Its rounded characters are the standard written form of Kannada.
Old Kannada: An early historical stage of Kannada, represented in inscriptions and literature from roughly the first millennium CE. Its inscriptions document Kannada before the emergence of the modern language.
Kannada cinema: The film industry producing movies primarily in Kannada, based largely in Karnataka. Films carry spoken Kannada to broad audiences and popularize regional speech.

Kannada grammar: The system of word forms, sentence structure, and grammatical relations used in Kannada. Its agglutinative morphology and subject-object-verb order shape Kannada sentences.
Kavirajamarga: A ninth-century Kannada work on poetics and literary style, traditionally associated with King Amoghavarsha I. It attests to an established Kannada literary culture by the ninth century.
