Kara-Khanid Khanate

A Turkic Muslim dynasty that ruled parts of Central Asia from the ninth to the early thirteenth century, spanning Transoxiana and Kashgaria.

Karluk Yabghu State: A medieval Turkic polity in Central Asia formed by Karluk groups after the fall of the Turkic Khaganate. The Karluks formed a major constituent population in the khanate’s rise.
Kara-Khanid double khanate: The division of Kara-Khanid rule between eastern and western branches, each led by its own line of khans. The dual structure explains the dynasty’s repeated internal rivalries.

Satuq Bughra Khan: A tenth-century ruler traditionally regarded as the first Kara-Khanid khan to convert to Islam. His conversion became central to accounts of the dynasty’s Islamization.
