Karakorum

Karakorum was the capital of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century, founded by Ögedei Khan in present-day Mongolia. It served as an imperial center linking Mongol rule with trade and diplomacy across Eurasia.

Ögedei Khan: The second Great Khan of the Mongol Empire, who ruled from 1229 to 1241. He founded Karakorum and made it the empire’s principal seat.
