Karl August von Hardenberg

Karl August von Hardenberg (1750–1822) was a Prussian statesman who served as chancellor and led reforms that reshaped the kingdom after its defeats by Napoleon.

Prussian reforms: A program of political, social, economic, and military change in Prussia after its defeat by Napoleon in 1806. Hardenberg directed the later phase of this program, extending changes begun under Stein.
