A Streetcar Named Desire (1951 film) : Elia Kazan’s 1951 film adaptation of Tennessee Williams’s play, featuring Marlon Brando, Vivien Leigh, Kim Hunter, and Karl Malden. Malden played Mitch, a role he had first performed in the Broadway production.
Elia Kazan : A Greek-American stage and film director whose work included A Streetcar Named Desire and On the Waterfront. Kazan directed Malden in both films and their original Broadway production of Streetcar.
