Knowra Katsushika Hokusai Katsushika Hokusai Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) was a Japanese artist known for ukiyo-e prints, paintings, and illustrated books, including the series Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.
The Great Wave off Kanagawa : A color woodblock print by Hokusai depicting a towering wave, boats, and Mount Fuji. This print became the most widely recognized image from Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.
