Kenneth MacAlpin

Kenneth I was a ninth-century king of Dál Riata and the Picts, traditionally regarded as the founder of the kingdom of Alba through their union.

Dál Riata: A Gaelic kingdom that occupied parts of western Scotland and northeastern Ireland in the early medieval period. Kenneth is associated with this kingdom before and during his rise to power.
