Kermanshah Province

A province in western Iran bordering Iraq, with Kermanshah as its capital. Its Zagros landscapes and archaeological sites reflect a long history of settlement and cross-border exchange.

Behistun Inscription: A monumental multilingual inscription and rock relief commissioned by Achaemenid king Darius I in the sixth century BCE. This UNESCO-listed monument stands on a cliff in the province and records Darius’s rise to power.
