Kiel Canal

The Kiel Canal is an artificial waterway in northern Germany connecting the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. It lets ships avoid the longer route around Denmark.

Brunsbüttel: A town in Schleswig-Holstein at the Kiel Canal’s western entrance on the Elbe estuary. Its lock complex connects canal traffic with the North Sea.
