Kingdom of Alba

The medieval Gaelic kingdom that emerged in northern Britain in the ninth century and developed into the Kingdom of Scotland.

Kenneth MacAlpin: A ninth-century king traditionally credited with uniting the Picts and Gaels under one dynasty. Later tradition linked his dynasty to Alba’s formation, though the details of that union remain uncertain.
