Kingdom of Cochin

The Kingdom of Cochin was a historic state on India’s Malabar Coast, centered on Kochi. It later became the princely state of Cochin under British rule.

Perumpadappu Swaroopam: The royal house and political lineage from which the rulers of Cochin emerged. Its rulers formed the dynastic core of the kingdom.
Cochin royal family: The ruling dynasty of Cochin, whose succession and authority were organized through Kerala’s matrilineal customs. Dynastic succession determined who exercised the kingdom’s authority.
