Kingdom of Lombardy–Venetia

An Austrian-ruled kingdom in northern Italy, established in 1815 after the Congress of Vienna and dissolved in 1866. Its territories became central to the Italian unification movement.

Congress of Vienna: A diplomatic conference held from 1814 to 1815 that redrew Europe after Napoleon’s defeat. Its settlement established Austrian rule over Lombardy and Venetia.
Lombardy–Venetia: The two northern Italian territories of Lombardy and Venetia, united under Austrian rule from 1815 to 1859–1866. They were the kingdom’s constituent territories, with separate administrations.
