Kobayashi Issa

Kobayashi Issa (1763–1828) was a Japanese poet of the Edo period, renowned for haiku that find tenderness and humor in ordinary life, nature, and suffering.

Haiku: A short Japanese poetic form traditionally organized around a seasonal reference and a cutting turn. Issa wrote within this form, adapting its conventions to intimate scenes and everyday speech.
