Kurmanbek Bakiyev

Kurmanbek Bakiyev is a Kyrgyz politician who served as president of Kyrgyzstan from 2005 until his ouster in 2010.

Tulip Revolution: The 2005 Kyrgyz uprising that forced President Askar Akayev from office. Bakiyev became president after the uprising displaced Akayev.
Kyrgyz Revolution of 2010: The uprising that overthrew Bakiyev’s government in Kyrgyzstan in April 2010. The revolution ended Bakiyev’s presidency and forced him to flee the country.
