Kurt Georg Kiesinger

Kurt Georg Kiesinger was a West German politician who served as federal chancellor from 1966 to 1969 and led the Christian Democratic Union from 1967 to 1971.

Grand coalition (West Germany): A governing alliance of West Germany’s Christian Democratic Union, Christian Social Union, and Social Democratic Party from 1966 to 1969. Kiesinger led this first postwar federal coalition between the Union parties and the Social Democrats.
