Land mine

A land mine is an explosive device placed on or beneath the ground and designed to detonate when triggered by a person, vehicle, or other target.

Pressure fuze: A triggering device that activates an explosive when pressure exceeds a set threshold. Pressure on a mine’s casing or actuator can initiate its firing chain.
Anti-personnel mine: A mine designed primarily to injure or kill people. This category targets people rather than vehicles.
Gunpowder warfare: Warfare shaped by the military use of gunpowder weapons and explosives. Early buried explosive charges became possible through gunpowder technology.
