Land (verb: arrive)

To land is to come down onto a surface after flight or travel by water, or to reach a destination by such a journey.

Landing: The act or event of arriving on a surface, especially from the air or water. This is the general event named by the verb, including its contact and arrival.
Aircraft landing: An aircraft's transition from flight to movement or rest on a surface. This is the most familiar technical use of the verb.
