Lapwing

A plover in the genus Vanellus, typically recognized by long legs, broad wings, and often a distinctive crest. Lapwings occur across much of the world, especially in open habitats.

Vanellinae: A subfamily of plovers that includes the lapwings of the genus Vanellus. Lapwings belong to this plover subfamily, which groups them with closely related species.
