Lee Iacocca

Lee Iacocca (1924–2019) was an American automobile executive who led Ford and Chrysler. He became known for championing the Ford Mustang and steering Chrysler through a financial crisis.

Henry Ford II: Henry Ford II led the Ford Motor Company from 1945 to 1979 and was a grandson of its founder. His conflict with Iacocca culminated in Iacocca’s 1978 dismissal from Ford.
Chrysler bailout: The Chrysler bailout was the 1979 federal loan-guarantee program that helped Chrysler meet its obligations and avoid bankruptcy. Iacocca persuaded Congress and the public to support the guarantees, then led the recovery.
