Saudi Arabia’s legal system is grounded primarily in Islamic law and supplemented by royal decrees, statutes, regulations, and state institutions. Its courts apply Sharia while operating within a modern, increasingly codified state framework.

Saudi labor law: The statutory framework governing employment relationships and workplace rights in Saudi Arabia. It regulates private-sector employment through detailed state legislation.
Civil law (legal system): A legal tradition organized primarily around comprehensive written codes and statutes. Saudi Arabia has expanded codification, but its system retains Sharia as a foundational source.
