Leo McCarey

Leo McCarey (1898–1969) was an American film director, screenwriter, and producer known for comedies including The Awful Truth and Going My Way.

The Awful Truth: A 1937 screwball comedy directed by Leo McCarey, starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne as a divorcing couple. Its improvised comic performances earned McCarey the Academy Award for Best Director.
