Lewis Terman

Lewis Terman (1877–1956) was an American psychologist who adapted the Binet–Simon intelligence test for the United States and led a long-term study of children selected for high intelligence.

Genetic Studies of Genius: A multivolume report on Terman’s longitudinal study of children selected for high IQ scores. This publication presented the findings of Terman’s best-known research project.
Binet–Simon scale: An early intelligence test developed in France to identify schoolchildren needing educational support. Terman revised this scale for American use, changing its items, norms, and administration.
Alfred Binet: A French psychologist who developed an influential intelligence test with Théodore Simon. Binet’s scale was the foundation Terman revised for use in the United States.
